Napo Cultural Center is now Yasuni Ecolodge

Discover the origin of Yasuní Ecolodge

A story shaped by community, nature, and a profound commitment to conservation in the Ecuadorian Amazon.

This is how Yasuní Ecolodge was born: as a community-led sustainable tourism initiative by the Kichwa Añangu people, where conservation, culture, and well-being come together, giving rise to a new way of experiencing and understanding this unique territory.

Each trail explored, each river navigated, and each piece of knowledge shared is part of a story passed down through generations—where biodiversity is not only observed, but deeply understood and protected.

Over time, this connection gave rise to a vision: to protect their territory while sharing the Ecuadorian Amazon with the world, through experiences that reveal its richness without compromising its essence.

A story that has evolved over time

Each stage has been part of a journey shaped by the community, where nature, culture, and conservation have defined the essence of the experience.

2012 – Yasuní Kichwa Ecolodge is born

Located on the banks of the Napo River, in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon, the lodge blends naturally into its surroundings, embraced by rainforest and wildlife. More than a place to stay, it is a space for connection, where nature and community live in harmony.

The women of the community have been at the heart of this project. They lead, care for, and share the essence of the lodge, turning each visit into a close, human, and deeply meaningful experience. Yasuní Kichwa Ecolodge is more than a place.

2018 – Napo Cultural Center

Over time, the experience began to evolve.

The project grew, strengthened, and found new ways to connect with travelers from around the world. This led to the creation of Napo Cultural Center—an этап that highlighted the cultural richness of the Kichwa Añangu Community and its deep connection to the land.

During these years, the experience focused on sharing traditions, ancestral knowledge, and ways of life that have been part of the community for generations. Visitors did not simply explore the rainforest—they engaged with a living culture, where every practice holds meaning and every story is deeply rooted.

2026 – Yasuní Ecolodge

Today, the story continues with a renewed sense of clarity.

Yasuní Ecolodge represents an evolution in how we communicate what has always been at our core: a deep connection with nature, wildlife, and the unique environment of Yasuní National Park.

Reclaiming the Yasuní name is more than a change—it is a conscious decision to reconnect with the territory, to highlight the place where everything unfolds, and to project it more strongly to the world.

In this new chapter, the experience focuses on what truly matters: biodiversity, conservation, and a direct connection with one of the most extraordinary ecosystems on the planet.

The essence remains unchanged.
The community continues to be the heart of the project.
The experience remains authentic.
